Buzen's Oni Demon Legend

Buzen City boasts a rich cultural heritage, where the ancient art of Buzen Kagura is performed each autumn to pray for a bountiful harvest.

Currently composed of six groups, the tradition faces challenges such as a shortage of successors and a growing number of people unfamiliar with Kagura. In response, young performers have established the Buzen Kagura Group "Jaraku," dedicated to sharing the beauty of Kagura through dynamic collaborations with other cultures.

Join us for a magical performance in the enchanting forest of Mount Kubote, renowned for its legends of oni (demons), in collaboration with the Buzen Tengu Taiko drumming troupe.

This unique cultural experience is available for booking throughout Fukuoka Prefecture and Oita Prefecture.
