We start our Montréal walking tour by skipping the line at the Notre-Dame Basilica before wandering Vieux-Montréal. We’ll pop into some historic and architecturally gems to get an understanding of the district before heading out and leaving the tourist crowds behind. We stroll through a segment of our interior or underground city. It’s the largest indoor network on the planet and lets us make our way to Chinatown for a quick snack as we get the skinny on the area. Then it’s off to our old Red Light District, turned entertainment Mecca to see where the biggest festivals take place. We pop into a whacky often missed institution for a visit. Up Saint-Laurent boulevard, we check out half a dozen impressive works of art from Montréal’s MURAL Festival in the borough that is home to the highest concentration of artists in Canada. With a coffee from a local third wave shop in hand we walk the hip parts of the lower Main before leaving you with a custom list of recommendations!!

We learn about the different communities that make up the area and pop into Little Italy for an iconic bakery when open. The Jean-Talon market is the largest of its kind in the country. We try goat cheeses that are so farm to table they remind us of that scene from Portlandia. We visit a spice den, point out other great vendors, try some of the best charcuteries in the province as well as a few surprises like a forager and more depending on the season! You’ll want to go back to the market after the tour. In Little Italy we explore the streets and area, sip third wave joe and learn about our progressive coffee scene. We head to a bean to bar award winning chocolate “factory” that will showcase some of the best stuff Montréal has to offer, period. 100% locally run, licensed guides!

Step into one of Old Montreal's most striking buildings, a former grand bank turned café, for a classic smoked salmon bagel that kicks off your Secret Food Tours experience in style. From there, wander the cobblestone streets to a local épicerie for a Québec cheese and charcuterie board full of regional flavor (on select days, this is swapped for something sweet instead). Next comes our secret stop: a spot locals love and most tourists never find. Tucked into a historic street, this Greek taverna serves authentic Mediterranean dishes: think fresh salads, house-made dips, and grilled specialties. What exactly you'll taste stays a surprise until you're there. No trip through Montreal is complete without poutine, so we keep it classic: crispy fries, squeaky cheese curds, and rich gravy. The province's top comfort food! We finish with two stops side by side: real Québec maple syrup straight from the forest, followed by a scoop of maple syrup ice cream.

Welcome to the only place in Montreal that will teach you how to make Montreal bagels! Montreal bagels are world famous for their shape, taste and texture. A trip to Montreal isn't complete until you've tried one of these amazing bagels. So why not try your hand at making them yourself? We will teach you the secrets on how to make some deliciously unique authentic Montreal style bagels at home, the easy way. We will start by learning how to properly mix and knead the dough. We will discuss how different flours and water amounts affect the final texture of the dough and crust. I have adapted the best Boulanger (Bread Maker) techniques to the home kitchen. You will become a confident baker at home in no time! We will go step by step from mixing the dough, letting it rest, to shaping the bagels, to boiling them, dressing them with various toppings, baking them and finally eating them! This workshop is super hands on so this is far from the "Watch the pro" type workshops out there.

Montreal is a bilingual city where Belle Époque architecture meets modern culture, and you'll find yourself switching between French and English without breaking stride. Visitors here book private tours obsessively - day trips to Quebec City and Ottawa, wildlife safaris an hour outside the city, sugar shack brunches in winter, and walking tours through Old Montreal's cobblestone streets. The St. Lawrence River shapes everything, and river cruises paired with city exploration are a favorite combo. Whether you're after heritage history, outdoor adventure, or just wanting to skip the crowds on someone else's schedule, private guides dominate the booking scene.
