Tour of the historic center of Brindisi

A marble sculpture created by the Lombard artist Floriano Bodini and placed in the gardens of Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II in Brindisi. Commissioned in 1981 to celebrate the two thousandth anniversary of the poet's death, the work was inaugurated on March 27, 1986.

The archaeological area comprising a district of the Roman city at the center of which is a hinge, that is one of the north-south road axes, on the sides of which the remains of domus with mosaic floors are clearly identifiable. The “Giuseppe Verdi” municipal theater develops on the finds.

In the historic center of Brindisi stands the "Temple of San Giovanni al Sepolcro", one of the most emblematic and mysterious buildings in the city.
