We'll sail along the coast to discover the beauty of a landscape shaped by nature and human labor. We'll sail slowly, and I'll show you the most interesting areas, their curiosities, and the best spots for a refreshing swim. We'll visit the bay of Portofino with its wonderful views, and you'll be able to admire the picturesque village from the sea. Upon request, you can disembark here for a short stroll along the piers or for some shopping. We'll then pass the tip of the promontory on which the lighthouse stands, marking the gulf's boundary, and continue through the marine protected area to the bay of San Fruttuoso. Here, we'll stop to swim and snorkel to see the Christ of the Abyss (a statue placed on the seabed). You'll admire the magical bay and the abbey of San Fruttuoso from the sea.

Common questions about booking Genoa experiences through SimilarTours
Portofino boat tours and day trips to Pisa or Florence fill up regularly, so booking 2-3 weeks ahead gives you better availability and time slots. Aperitif boat tours in Portofino are especially popular for evenings, so plan even earlier for those.
It works as both - the city itself has museums and the old quarter, but most visitors book from here because it's the natural jump-off point for the Riviera and Tuscany day trips. If you're car-free, Genoa's a convenient home base with straightforward transport to everywhere else.
May through September offers the calmest seas and warmest weather for full-day and aperitif boat tours. April and October work too but seas can be choppier - check weather conditions before you go.
Not really. Most tours here are private (boat-based or driver-included), and you can book transfers directly to Bologna or Rimini airports. The Riviera coast is best explored by water anyway, which most private tours include.
Absolutely here - Portofino and the Gulf of Tigullio are small, crowded places, and a private boat gives you freedom to linger, swim, or anchor in quieter spots. You'll also avoid the ferry schedules and daytrip crowds that pack the main villages.
Most private day trips include transport from Genoa (usually from the pier), guide commentary, and enough time in each city to see highlights like the Leaning Tower or Duomo. Check your specific booking for entry tickets to monuments, as those often cost extra.
Yes - several tours bundle private car transfer with coastal boat time, so you get both the water experience and a drive through villages like Portofino and Rapallo. These full-day options work well if you want variety in a single day.

Italy
Genoa sits where the Italian Riviera meets the sea, a working port city with real character and excellent launching points for coastal adventures. Most visitors book private boat tours to Portofino and the Gulf of Tigullio, day trips to Florence and Pisa, or longer explorations of the Riviera itself. The city works best as a base for getting out on the water or heading inland to Tuscany - think small-group boat excursions, private transfers to nearby airports, and guided tours that mix coastal villages with Renaissance art towns.
