This tour is one of the very few hiking tours that start from Arima Onsen. This hiking tour takes you along historic roads winding through the scenic, healing forests of Arima Onsen. Led by a knowledgeable guide, this tour offers an immersive experience in both nature and history, following trails used by travelers and traders since ancient times.
Start At: Arima Onsen Station of Arima Rokko Ropeway We will walk about 5 minutes from Arima Onsen Station to the trailhead. Pass By: Mushi-jigoku (The trailhead) The historic sites related to the carbonated spring sources of Arima Onsen provide fascinating insights. Trail Along: Totoya Road The mountain trail that served as the main road for travel between Kobe and Arima. Stop At: The site of the old tea house The site where the mountain pass teahouse once stood is now a gazebo. We will take a break for about 10 minutes here. Trail Along: Fudeya Road We will walk along the Fudeya Trail that passes through the Healing Forest. In the Healing Forest, you can see a variety of plants, and it is also home to many different species of birds. Stop At: Viewpoint Deck From the viewpoint deck, you can gaze upon the town and the mountain ranges of the Tamba region. Stop At: Taiko Waterfall It’s a beautiful waterfall cascading between rocky cliffs. Endpoint: Zuihouji Park A park featuring a quaint mountain gate and rest areas, renowned as one of the top spots for autumn foliage in the Kansai region. The tour ends here.
