After more than 10 years of working in restaurants, I decided to take the next step and use my knowledge of wine in a more creative way. In February 2021 I left my hometown, Amsterdam, to host wine tastings here in Valencia. I have developed myself by working in some of the best Michelin starred restaurants in Europe. Besides the practical work I got educated in the highest Dutch wine studies, “Vinologen” and in the highest level of the most well-known wine studies worldwide: WSET4. What distinguishes a wine tasting with me from the rest? My personality and ability to treat people and give them an unforgettable evening. A unique location with a guaranteed feel-good atmosphere and ultimately an enormous repertoire of wine knowledge, so that you will hardly find a question that I cannot answer.

Common questions about booking Valencia experiences through SimilarTours
Spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) are sweet spots - warm enough for the beach, not scorching. Summer gets hot and crowded, winter is mild but can be rainy. If you're interested in the Las Fallas festival (mid-March), book way ahead since the city fills up fast.
For private tours and day trips - especially full-day ones to places like Peñiscola or the Algar waterfalls - booking 3-7 days ahead works well. Popular shore tours and city highlights can fill faster, so check before you go if you're visiting during peak season.
The old town's navigable on your own, but a private guide cuts through the noise and gets you into the real story of the neighborhoods. Plenty of people book private or small-group tours of the City of Arts and Sciences plus the old quarter - you'll get way more context than wandering solo.
Private tours typically include transportation and a guide; some include tastings or boat time depending on the experience. Shore tours and transfers usually cover your transport and entrance to main sites, but check before you go for specifics like meals or museum entries.
Yes - it's about 3 hours by car or train, and people do book organized day tours for it. You'll get the highlights but lose half the day to travel, so it's more of a taste than a deep dive.
Boat tours and the City of Arts and Sciences work for most ages and mobility levels. Wine country trips and waterfalls involve more walking. Check tour descriptions before booking and mention any access needs - guides are usually flexible about pacing.
Absolutely. Beaches are right there, but day trips to spots like Benidorm, Villajoyosa, or the quieter coves near Altea add a different dimension. Many people do a mix - one day in the city, another hitting the coast or wine villages.

Valencia hits different. You've got the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences rising from what used to be a riverbed, the labyrinth of the old town packed with tapas bars and plazas, and beaches that actually feel like they're part of the city rather than tacked on. People book here for everything from half-day cultural tours to longer wine trips inland toward villages like Altea, plus day escapes to waterfalls, castle towns, and the nearby coast. It's the kind of place where you can do a private boat tour in the morning and be exploring mountain villages by afternoon.
