The kite lesson is taught on the famous main kiting beach (Flag Beach) just outside Corralejo. The group sizes are kept to 4 students per instructor and all courses include all the gear. We have been teaching at this location for over 22 years and know the conditions and location well. After an initial theory lesson of 1 hour, we then pump the kite and start to beach fly. This lasts about 3 hours. The following day we will go out in a boat and practice the kite flying in the water. Once this stage has been completed the students will get the board to do their first rides.

The volcanic landscape of Fuerteventura's mountainous interior goes far beyond its sun-soaked beaches. And there's no better way to navigate this rugged terrain is on this full-day 4x4 tour. Heading off-road onto hairpin tracks, you'll bump around the lunar-like landscapes of the Roque de Moro, one of the island's highest volcanic peaks. Here, you'll get breathtaking views over the buffeted west coast before dropping down to Cofete. This mostly abandoned village is home to the mysterious Winter Villa – rumoured to have been a Nazi hideout after World War II. There'll be a photo stop on Cofete beach, and, if the weather's right, extra beach time on the east coast, before you make your way to El Puertito. The perfect chance to look around, swim or grab a bite to eat. The final stop of the day is at Punta de Jandia, Fuerteventura's southern tip. Stand at the edge of the island where the ocean meets the sky, rounding off the tour by soaking in show-stopping views.

Rolling beaches, desert-like plains and towering mountain peaks – Jandia is a slice of Fuerteventura at its rawest. And on this easygoing walking tour, you'll get to see the peninsula in all of its glory. The Natural Park of Jandia, Risco del Paso and Morro Jable are all on the agenda, as well as free time for swimming. You'll start in Jandia Natural Park. This huge reserve covers most of the island's southerly tip, encompassing mountains, rocky coasts, sand dunes and undeveloped wilderness – it's a haven for nature-lovers. Then, it's on to Sotavento, where crystal-clear waters lap up against the soft, golden stretch of sand. You'll enjoy some free time here to take a dip, walk along the beach or simply admire the view. Next up is Morro Jable. Even though this small, fishing village has had some tourist development over the years, it's managed to retain its traditional Canary charm. Spend some time here grabbing Insta-worthy pics or simply chill with a coffee in one of the local cafés

Common questions about booking Puerto del Rosario experiences through SimilarTours
Year-round winds make Fuerteventura reliable for kitesurf, wing foil, and windsurf, but the Atlantic can be choppy in winter. Spring and autumn offer steadier conditions. Book beginner courses at least a few days ahead during peak season (July-August, Easter)-instructors fill up fast.
Private tours (guided 4x4 safaris, photography sessions, multi-day courses) are worth booking a week or two ahead, especially if you're traveling July-September. Half-day and shorter group classes can often be booked same-week, but check before you go.
Most operators offer pickups from Puerto del Rosario and nearby Corralejo, so you don't strictly need a rental car. That said, having one gives you flexibility to explore Cofete's southern beaches and inland villages on your own schedule between tours.
Yes. The best northern and southern routes require local knowledge to navigate safely (especially 4x4 trails), and guides unlock stories about the landscape you'd miss alone. Private tours and 'go with locals' experiences consistently fill here.
Water sports courses typically include instruction, equipment, and often wetsuits; check what your operator provides. For 4x4 safaris and sightseeing tours, transport and a guide are standard-bring sun protection, water, and sturdy shoes. Multi-day courses include all gear; day tours usually don't provide meals.
Absolutely. Segway tours suit a gentler pace, and half-day safaris work well for families (confirm age/fitness requirements with operators). Private sightseeing tours can be customized. Water sports are available at all levels, from absolute beginner through advanced.

Puerto del Rosario is the gateway to Fuerteventura's wild coastline and desert interior. Most visitors base themselves here to access the island's standout activities: water sports dominate the scene, with kitesurf, wing foil, and windsurf classes drawing everyone from complete beginners to improvers. Beyond the beach, you'll find 4x4 safaris into remote volcanic terrain, private photography sessions, segway tours through coastal towns, and guided adventures with local knowledge that reveal the island's less-travelled corners. The vibe is laid-back but action-oriented.
