Common questions about booking Alberobello & Locorotondo experiences through SimilarTours
Late April through May and September through October hit the sweet spot - warm enough for boat tours and walking the trulli streets, but not the crushing summer heat or August crowds. Winter is quieter but some boat operators run fewer departures, so check before you go.
The 7-8 hour private boat tours and boat parties are popular and fill quickly, especially in peak season. Book 2-3 weeks ahead if you're traveling June through August, or at least a week before for shoulder months.
Alberobello and Locorotondo are about 30 minutes apart by car or local bus. Monopoli's port is roughly 45 minutes from Alberobello by road. If you're booking boat tours, check whether your tour includes hotel pickup - many do.
Yes - tours to Lecce, Ostuni, and Matera give you context for the architecture and history that's easy to miss solo. Local guides know the back streets and can explain why these towns look the way they do, plus you skip the logistics of getting there.
Most 8-hour private tours from Monopoli include the boat, a captain, and time swimming in coves. Champagne tours add a bottle. Lunch varies by operator, so check the specific tour details before booking.
Boat tours work well for families, though full-day 8-hour trips might be long for very small children. The fisherman experience and shorter 4-5 hour boat parties could be better paced. Always confirm age policies and whether life jackets are provided with the operator.
