What to expect

Jozani Forest National Park

This protected forest is home to Zanzibar's rare Red Colobus monkeys and a coastal mangrove ecosystem that you explore on foot.

Features

• Red Colobus monkeys observation takes you along forest trails where these endemic primates live in family groups, giving you time to watch their behavior and photograph them in their natural habitat.

• Mangrove forest bridge walking leads you over a raised walkway through the mangrove area, where you can see different mangrove trees and look for crabs and tropical fish in the shallow water below.

• With entry to Jozani Forest National Park already arranged, your private local tour guide in your language shares context about the forest environment and helps you navigate the paths comfortably.

• Bottles of drinking water are provided during this part of the tour, and government taxes are covered in advance so there are no additional park-related charges on the day.

Salaam Cave

Located in Kizimkazi village, Salaam Cave focuses on sea turtles conservation and gives you close contact with these marine animals.

Features

• Entry to Salaam Cave grants you access to the sea turtles conservation and rehabilitation pools, where you can observe the turtles up close and learn about efforts to protect their natural habitats.

• Sea turtles interaction, swimming and feeding lets you get into the clear water alongside the turtles and offer them seaweed for feeding, creating a hands-on way to understand their behavior.

• Seaweed for feeding the turtles is provided by the site, so you do not need to bring anything extra to participate in the feeding sessions.

• After your time at Salaam Cave, your private transportation takes you back to your hotel for drop-off, with all government taxes already included in the tour price.
