What you'll do

Located in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, Yamazaki Manufacturing is a precision sh
eet metal workshop producing mother machines for industries such as food production, automotive, and semiconductors. Under the leadership of a female president, the company blends advanced engineering with refined aesthetics, developing original brands like decorative hairpins and the “Sandai-me Bankinya” line to showcase new possibilities in metal craftsmanship. They also offer a reservation-only experience where visitors can create a Japanese sword-shaped toothpick called “SAMURAIPICK.” Guests can watch large-scale machinery in action, making it a rare opportunity to experience Shizuoka’s technical skill and cultural spirit firsthand. Products are also available through their online store. The workshop is located about a 10-minute drive from JR Shimizu Station. This experience includes an up-close tour of a metalworking factory, a chance to witness artisan craftsmanship, and hands-on creation of a SAMURAIPICK (a Japanese sword-shaped metal pick).
