This square is located in the heart of Rome, at the end of the Via del Corso. From here it's only a short walk to some of Rome's most famous sights like the Capitoline Hill, the Roman Forum and the Pantheon. The Roman Forum was the pulsing heart of Rome, the city’s main piazza where citizens of every social level met to exchange opinions, do business, buy in the markets and renew their strength over a tasty dish and a cup of good wine.

The Flavius amphitheatre is the biggest and most imposing in the Roman world, but is also the most famous monument in Rome and is known as the "Colosseum" or "Coliseum". Started by Emperor Vespasian of the Flavia family, it was opened by his son Titus in 80 A.D. (tickets not included)

The Roman Pantheon is the monument with the greatest number of records: the best preserved, with the biggest brick dome in the history of architecture and is considered the forerunner of all modern places of worship. It is the most copied and imitated of all ancient works.

Trevi Fountain is the most beautiful fountain in Rome. Measuring some 20 meters in width by 26 meters in height, Trevi Fountain is also the largest fountain in the city.

Even among Rome’s fabulous and fetching collection of sights, one particularly photogenic landmark seems to attract most adoration from snap-happy travelers: the Spanish Steps.

Along the Via Appia, in a natural depression in the ground that housed a pagan necropolis, a Christian cemetery developed from the mid-third century AD. From 258 AD, as witnessed by the creation of a courtyard and a sacred shrine, liturgies were held in honour of the apostles Peter and Paul; the invocations of the faithful scratched on the walls can still be seen. At the remembrance of Peter and Paul, at slightly later time, the burial of the body of St. Sebastian, martyred during the persecutions of the third century, is recalled. Above the place of worship, Constantine (306-337) built a basilica dedicated to the Apostles, which later became the Basilica of San Sebastiano fuori le mura.
