This experience combines Japanese performance, spirituality, culture, and cuisine with an overnight stay at a Buddhist temple facility in Kanagawa Prefecture. Your journey begins by checking in at the local shukubo, a historical facility at a Buddhist temple (and your accommodation for the night). Over 300 years old, this family-owned residence is steeped in history and spiritual significance. Next, venture towards the Noh performance stage; a translator will explain the history and culture of Noh, and then you’ll have the chance to don Noh masks and traditional attire! Head back to the shukubo for a special dinner featuring local ingredients and regional specialties (tofu and sukiyaki). After a restful sleep, enjoy a nourishing breakfast then change into sacred garb to begin your adventure! You’ll carry a symbolic wooden sword toward Afuri Shrine, relax during a cable car ride with panoramic views of Mt. Oyama, and end with a special meal at a quaint cafe.
