Pompeii,Herculaneum, Vesuvius Wine Tasting and Lunch from Salerno

Pompeii is the most stunning archaeological site on the Italian Peninsula and one of the most visited. The ruins of Pompeii are an open air museum where visitors can go back in time and discover a city that had been buried in ashes until 1748. Visitors experience the city much as it existed more than 2000 years ago.

Herculaneum, the smaller sister of Pompeii, is a destination for lovers of beauty. Visitors to the ancient city have the rare opportunity to see perfectly intact patrician villas. A miracle of preservation where even the wood and ropes of the 2000-year-old city are on display, along with stunning brick work, mosaics, and frescos. The detail with which Herculaneum has been preserved is remarkable considering the violence of the 500 C° volcanic flows which ravaged the city.

laneum, this experience invites you to slow down and savor the flavors of the land. You’ll retreat to a scenic vineyard on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, home to the celebrated wine Lacryma Christi—literally, the “Tear of Christ.” Surrounded by rows of vines rooted in volcanic soil, you’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch paired with a guided wine tasting, learning how the unique terrain and centuries-old traditions shape each bottle. As you sip and dine, take in the striking views of Mount Vesuvius rising above the vineyard—a sight as powerful today as it was for the ancient inhabitants of Pompeii and Herculaneum. This is a moment of calm and connection after history-filled exploration: great wine, authentic local food, and the chance to gaze upon Vesuvio, the sacred mountain of wine, just as people did thousands of years ago.
