Forest Lagoon & Goðafoss Waterfall Small-Group Tour from Akureyri

Your adventure begins as you're whisked away from the bustling harbor of Akureyri, nestled in the scenic fjords of northern Iceland. Relax in comfort as we traverse through Iceland's stunning landscapes, where rugged mountains meet sweeping valleys, and the sky seems to stretch endlessly.

Nestled in northern Iceland, Goðafoss Waterfall, dubbed the "Waterfall of the Gods," is a breathtaking display of nature's power and beauty. As the Skjálfandafljót River cascades over rugged cliffs, it creates a mesmerizing spectacle of churning white water and mist, filling the air with energy. Beyond its natural allure, Goðafoss holds historical significance, linked to Iceland's conversion to Christianity in 1000 AD when chieftain Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði cast his idols into its waters. Today, visitors are drawn to its mystical aura, whether admiring from viewing platforms or hiking nearby trails. A visit to Goðafoss promises an unforgettable immersion in Iceland's rich natural and cultural heritage. We also visit the nearby hidden gem of Geitafoss waterfall, just a few hundred meters downstream from Godafoss.

As we leave behind the tranquil countryside and historic landmarks, take in the sweeping vistas of Iceland's rugged landscapes. Sit back and relax as we wind our way through the picturesque countryside, passing by rolling hills, majestic mountains, and sprawling valleys. Along the way, soak in the beauty of the Icelandic scenery, dotted with quaint villages and meandering rivers. As we approach Akureyri, the vibrant cityscape comes into view. We make a picture stop at viewpoint with panoramic fjord and city views. Our final destination is the Akureyri Cruise Terminal, where our tour began.

Perhaps the highlight of the day, is the time spent at Forest Lagoon, a classic Iceland geothermal spa set in wooded surrounds, with stunning city and fjord views from the infinity pool. Try the cold plunge and saunas, or grab a drink at the in-lagoon bar. Return shuttle buses depart the Forest Lagoon at 15 minutes to the hour, every hour – so you can stay for a long or as short as you prefer.
