Common questions about booking Padua experiences through SimilarTours
Absolutely, if you want to see the Euganean Hills farms, villas, and Motor Valley properly. Public transport works for the city itself, but the countryside experiences people book - Grana Padano production tours, wine estates, Ferrari factory visits - are all outside town and much easier with a driver. You'll also move at your own pace instead of following a tour group schedule.
The farm and villa tours aren't typically sold out weeks ahead, so a week or two is usually fine. If you're arriving by cruise and need a same-day transfer from Chioggia port to your Padua hotel or onward to Venice or Rome, book that as soon as you know your port arrival time.
Yes - trains are quick and cheap, or you can hire a private transfer if you have luggage or prefer not to navigate. Many visitors combine Padua with a Venice day trip or arrange their airport transfers through one city to the other.
These typically include tastings and production tours at working farms - think watching Parmigiano Reggiano being made, sampling prosciutto di Parma, or visiting a Prosecco vineyard. Lunch or snacks are usually included, but check before you go for exactly what's on the itinerary.
Spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) are ideal - warm but not sweltering, and the countryside is at its best. Summer can be hot and crowded with cruise passengers; winter is quieter but some farm tours may have reduced schedules.
The city itself is fine for families - easy walking, good piazzas, no steep hills. The countryside tours work too, though kids might find a three-hour farm tour less engaging than parents do. Check specific tour details to see if there's a minimum age.
No - private transfers and organized day tours handle the driving. If you're staying longer and want total flexibility, a rental car works, but for shorter visits a hired driver or pre-booked tours are less hassle.

Italy
Padua sits in the heart of the Veneto region, a university city with Renaissance frescoes and arcaded squares that feels authentically Italian without Venice's crowds. Most visitors arrive via nearby cruise ports or airports, and the real action here revolves around day trips: hiring a private transfer to explore the Euganean Hills' food trails (ham, wine, olive oil), touring the villas and medieval towns dotting the countryside, or driving out to Ferrari and Lamborghini territory in Motor Valley. If you're based in Padua, transfers to Milan, Rome, or Venice airports are straightforward private bookings. It's the kind of place where you can have proper Paduan cuisine, see Giotto's frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel, then head out to a working Parmigiano Reggiano dairy or a Prosecco estate.
