The Day Tour to Cricova Cellar & Old Orhei Cave Monasteries

Just outside of Chisinau, you’ll find Orheiul Vechi, an open-air historical complex, where the Old Orhei Cave Monasteries stand as one of Moldova's most iconic landmarks. Cave Monastery: The Orheiul Vechi Monastery is a remarkable religious site, carved into the limestone cliffs of the Raut River Valley. Dating back to the 13th century, it is a testament to the region's deep Christian heritage. Visitors can explore the caves, which are still inhabited by monks, and admire the serene surroundings that have remained largely unchanged for centuries. Ethnographical Museum & Open-Air Museum: The Orheiul Vechi Open-Air Museum offers visitors the chance to explore the rural life and traditional architecture of Moldova. You’ll encounter centuries-old dwellings, sacred places. Midday, stop at a traditional Moldovan restaurant, where you can taste local dishes (lunch is optional and paid separately).
