Your experience
Ride through vineyards and olive groves in Chianti on a small-group horseback experience with lunch, tastings, and round-trip transfers.
This small-group experience is a full-day tour through Chianti and San Gimignano.
Getting started
Begin your day by meeting your professional guide at the designated departure point for your selected variant. After check-in, board the 8-seat minivan for your round-trip transfers. As you leave the city or village behind, settle in for the scenic drive through the Chianti countryside while your guide provides live commentary about the region.
What to expect
Tuscan countryside horseback riding
Your first main stop is a riding stable set among vineyards and olive groves in the Chianti region.
Features
• The 1-hour horseback riding experience takes place at a walking pace in the Tuscan countryside, so it is suitable for beginners and for anyone who has not ridden before. Riders follow the instructor in a single line for safety throughout the route.
• You are provided with a riding helmet before you mount your horse, and your expert guide and local instructor give basic instructions so you can feel comfortable during the ride.
• As you move along the trail, you travel between vineyards and olive groves that characterize the Chianti landscape and can take in the rural scenery from a different perspective than a standard coach tour.
Traditional Chianti winery
After riding, the experience continues at a traditional Chianti winery in the same region.
Features
• A guided visit introduces you to the winery and its production areas, while your expert guide explains what makes Chianti spirits distinctive and how the surrounding vineyards and olive groves shape local products.
• During the tasting session, you sample Tuscan spirits, extra virgin olive oil, and balsamic vinegar, with the possibility of tasting up to 5 different spirits depending on the day's selection.
• An authentic Tuscan lunch is served at the winery, and vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available on request so different dietary needs are accommodated without missing out on the shared meal.
Scenic drive through Chianti
Travel between locations is part of the experience, not just the transfer.
Features
• The round-trip transfers in an 8-seat minivan keep the group size small, which makes it easier to ask your expert guide questions and to hear the live commentary during the journey.
• While you drive through the Chianti wine region, your guide points out the vineyards, olive groves, and small villages you pass, giving context to the landscape you later explore on horseback and at the winery.
San Gimignano
The final main stop is San Gimignano, a medieval hill town known for its towers and historic center.
Features
• Here you have free time in San Gimignano to explore at your own pace, whether that means walking the cobbled streets, browsing small shops, or taking in views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside from the town's vantage points.
• The visit is unguided during this segment, so you can choose how to use your time in the town before meeting the group again for the return journey by minivan.
Wrapping up
At the end of your free time in San Gimignano, you rejoin your small group and guide to board the 8-seat minivan for the return leg of your round-trip transfers back to your original departure point, where the experience concludes.
• Please check your final voucher for the redemption details and specific instructions.
• Your voucher will be emailed to you shortly.
