Led by Koudai Araki, a professional wildlife photographer based in Obihiro, you’ll visit carefully researched nesting sites of flying squirrels hidden in Hokkaido’s coniferous woodlands. At dawn and dusk—the only moments these nocturnal animals glide—you’ll capture their movements in soft natural light. Between sessions, enjoy a 3–4-hour midday break to rest, review, and recharge. Daytime exploration includes seasonal wildlife such as owls, foxes, and long-tailed tits. All locations are chosen through field research to ensure ethical, repeatable encounters with minimal impact. This is more than a tour—it’s a private field workshop for photographers who value patience, precision, and the quiet beauty of Hokkaido’s wilderness.
