The area of Ella has two beautiful waterfalls, the most admired waterfall being the one that is situated in Ella – Wellawaya Road. Tourists, as well as locals, refer to this waterfall as the Ravana Waterfall. The waterfall which is above the Ravana Falls and is not visible to the road is called the Upper Ravana Falls as well as Kithal Ella Falls. The height of this waterfall is about 25m.

Ella is a small town in the Badulla District of Uva Province, Sri Lanka governed by an Urban Council. It is approximately 200 kilometres east of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 1,041 metres above sea level. The area has a rich bio-diversity, dense with numerous varieties of flora and fauna.

Little Adam’s peak is a pyramid-shaped rock located opposite the relatively huge Ella rock. Nonetheless, it offers amazing views of the Ella rock, Rawana falls and surrounding valleys. Best reached in the early mornings, the little Adam’s peak is often covered in mist. It is an easy hike with the path zig-zagging around the back of little Adam’s peak hill and only a bit steep near the top.
