Being an Okanagan boy with a fiendish work ethic and a love of wine, Don Bartier, with his wife Sheila and her brother and sister, planted Sheila’s family property in Summerland to grapes, making it the first of the Bartier Bros. While looking for a “real job”, Michael Bartier accepted casual work in a winery cellar. And, since he’s still in the cellar, you could say he hasn’t found a real job yet. We offer intimate wine tasting experiences surrounded by picturesque mountain views from our stunning vineyard. The Rust Wine Company is a vineyard with deep roots and a passion for renewal. Their wines are crafted from five outstanding vineyards in the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys, each reflecting the unique character of the land. Our home vineyard, South Rock, boasts a history dating back to 1963 and produces some of BC’s only Zinfandel, along with other fine varietals. The vineyard sits at the southern tip of the Golden Mile Bench, offering stunning views and a rich history, including a heritage house with a living desert roof.
