Okayama Shore Excursion : Custom Car Tour, Licensed Guide

Okayama Castle, nicknamed the "Crow Castle" for its striking black exterior, is one of the city's most iconic landmarks. Originally completed in 1597, the elegant black keep stands beside the Asahi River and offers a glimpse into the region's feudal history, with lovely views of Korakuen Garden across the water.

Korakuen is celebrated as one of Japan's three great landscape gardens. Completed in 1700 by the local feudal lord, this expansive garden features sweeping lawns, ponds, streams, tea houses, and pruned pines, with the black keep of Okayama Castle as a scenic backdrop. A relaxing stroll showcases classic Japanese garden design through the seasons.

The Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter is a beautifully preserved district of white-walled Edo-period merchant warehouses lining a willow-fringed canal. Stroll the charming streets, browse craft shops and cafes, and soak up the nostalgic atmosphere of one of Japan's most picturesque old towns.

Japan's first museum of Western art, the Ohara Museum of Art opened in 1930 in the heart of Kurashiki. Its neoclassical building houses an impressive collection including works by El Greco, Monet, Matisse, and Picasso, alongside modern Japanese pieces - a cultural highlight of the historic quarter.

Washuzan Hill is famous for offering one of the most spectacular panoramas of the Seto Inland Sea. From the summit lookout, enjoy sweeping views of the majestic Great Seto Bridge stretching across the water and dozens of pine-clad islands - a breathtaking photo stop, especially beautiful at sunset.

The Great Seto Bridge (Seto Ohashi) is a remarkable series of double-deck bridges spanning nearly 13 km across the Seto Inland Sea, connecting Honshu and Shikoku over a string of islands. Admire this engineering marvel and the scenic island-dotted seascape from the Okayama shore.

One of Okayama's most important Shinto shrines, Kibitsu Shrine is famed for its striking architecture and a remarkable 360-meter-long covered wooden corridor that winds gracefully through the hillside greenery. Steeped in the legend of Momotaro the Peach Boy, it is a serene and atmospheric cultural stop.

Perched on a hill overlooking the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, Achi Shrine is the area's oldest shrine, dedicated to safe sea voyages. Climb the stone steps for lovely views over the old town's rooftops, and admire the ancient garden and seasonal blossoms.
