Narusawa Ice Cave (鳴沢氷穴) is a typical lava cave at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Over 1150 years ago, during year 6 of the Jogan era, Nagaoyama, a flank volcano of Mt. Fuji erupted. The red hot lava flow descended between ancient parasitic volcanoes, creating this two-tunnel type cave. It was introduced to the world as a geological wonder after being designated as a natural monument in 1929. The tree-type lava bed is said to have the most spiracles in the world.

It was used as a refrigerator to store the eggs of silkworms up until 100 years ago. The cave has also been designated as a Japanese natural monument. It is the lateral type cave that tourist can easily walk through.
