The smart way to stay connected in Japan
A Japan eSIM is a digital SIM that you add directly to your compatible phone, so there is no need to remove your home SIM or visit a store for a physical card. Once you receive the QR code by email, install the plan while connected to Wi-Fi and keep it ready for arrival. When you land in Japan, turn on the eSIM and enable data roaming to access mobile data. You can stay connected as you travel between cities like Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Sapporo, and beyond. Keep your primary SIM available for calls and SMS when your device supports dual SIM use.
Benefits, convenience, and more
Choose 10GB for a 15-day itinerary, 20GB for a 30-day stay, or unlimited data at up to 100Mbps for 7 days. The plan works across Japan, including major cities, airports, rail routes, shopping districts, hotels, and tourist areas. Use it for mapping directions, translation tools, messaging, booking confirmations, and social apps. You may also be able to share data with a laptop or travel companion through a hotspot, depending on the network and device. Coverage is generally strong in urban areas and along major rail routes, although signal can vary in tunnels, deep mountain areas, remote islands, and some rural locations.
