towards the beautiful Limides Lake, a small alpine lake. From here, the trail continues to Forcella Averau, an exceptional panoramic viewpoint offering incredible views over the surrounding valleys and the main mountain groups of the Eastern Dolomites. The route then reaches Rifugio Averau and Rifugio Nuvolau, two of the most scenic mountain huts in the Dolomites, before descending towards the famous Cinque Torri area and Rifugio Scoiattoli. Before returning, there is the possibility to complete a short loop around the towers, visiting the open-air World War I museum and the historic trenches once used by the Italian army during the conflict. The trail mainly follows single-track mountain paths with rocky terrain, never technically difficult, but best suited for hikers comfortable walking in alpine environments.
