What you'll do

Step into authentic Cretan life in the traditional village of Fourni, far from the usual tourist routes
Surrounded by mountain landscapes and hidden chapels, this quiet village offers a glimpse of everyday island life as it has been for generations. Take a moment to relax at a local kafeneio and enjoy a traditional Greek coffee — just like the locals do.
1 hour
Continue to the peaceful Aretiou Monastery, a hidden gem set in a quiet, rocky l
andscape and shaded by centuries-old cypress trees. Explore the monastery at your own pace, admire its simple beauty and, if you’re lucky, meet one of the resident monks, adding a truly authentic and personal touch to your visit.
1 hour
On the way to Plaka, enjoy a scenic photo stop overlooking the famous island of
Spinalonga, while your guide shares its fascinating history. Arrive in the charming seaside village of Plaka, where you’ll have free time to enjoy a relaxed lunch at a traditional waterfront taverna. Fresh seafood, crystal-clear waters and a laid-back atmosphere make this one of the most enjoyable stops of the day. Swimming is possible here — just note that the entry to the sea is rocky, so water shoes are recommended.
2h 30m
End your journey in the picturesque town of Agios Nikolaos, known for its relaxe
d atmosphere and beautiful coastal setting. Stroll along the waterfront, explore small local shops, or simply unwind with a coffee by the sea — the perfect way to finish your day in Eastern Crete.
