What to expect

Mostraumen fjord cruise from Bergen

This half-day round-trip cruise carries you from central Bergen through Osterfjord into the narrow Mostraumen Strait on a modern high-speed catamaran.

Features

• Settle in for a 3.5-hour round-trip cruise from Bergen that lets you see the surrounding landscapes from the water without arranging separate transport.

• Sail on a high-speed catamaran with both open-air and indoor decks, so you can choose between fresh fjord air outside or sheltered seating inside.

• Cruise through Osterfjord toward the Mostraumen Strait, passing steep cliffs, valleys, and waterfalls as the channel narrows.

• Take in views of Bryggen, the historic Hanseatic Wharf, as you leave Bergen, along with St. Mary's Church and the medieval Bergenhus Fortress.

• Listen to the audio guide for commentary and insights into Bryggen, the Mostraumen Strait, Osterfjord, St. Mary's Church, and Bergenhus Fortress as you pass each landmark.

• Make use of onboard facilities such as restrooms and seating areas while food and beverages are available for purchase during the cruise.

Ulriken cable car round-trip tickets

Reach one of Bergen's signature city mountains quickly, using Norway's largest gondolas to get from the valley station to the summit of Mount Ulriken.

Features

• Ride the Ulriken cable car on a round-trip cable car journey, with enclosed gondolas taking you directly up to and back down from the summit station.

• Use the mountaintop access via cable car to step straight out at elevation on Mount Ulriken without needing to hike up from the city.

• Enjoy panoramic views of fjords and mountains from the summit, including sightlines over the Bergen cityscape, surrounding fjords, and nearby mountain ranges.

• Follow clearly marked access to hiking trails that start beside the cable car, choosing a route that suits how long and how far you want to walk.

• Spend unstructured time at the Mount Ulriken summit area, where you can explore viewing platforms and later board the cable car again for your return ride to Bergen.

• Plan your own approach to the mountain base, noting that the Ulriken Express bus is not included and travel by light rail line 2 to Haukeland is an option with tickets bought in the city centre.
