After checking into your hotel, embark on a tour of the Highlands, an area filled with overgrown forest, giant tortoises, and ancient underground lava chambers.

Travel by boat from Santa Cruz to 2 of the tiny nearby uninhabited islands—Bartolomé, North Seymour, South Plaza, or Santa Fe. On each day, you're given plenty of time to venture into the outdoors to explore the region's range of wildlife. Scope out blue-footed boobies, marine iguanas, and goofy Galapagos penguins. After lunch, strap on snorkeling gear to discover friendly sea lions, colorful fish, and spotted turtles before heading back to Santa Cruz.

In order to make this modification, make sure you also pick a late flight for your return on the last day of the tour (departing later than 12:30pm).
