The Lower Omo River in south west Ethiopia is home to eight different tribes whose population is about 200,000. They have lived there for centuries. The valley is mostly a dry savanna expanse fed by the Omo River –one of their most important resources. Along the river and throughout the valley region, hundreds of small tribal villages pepper the landscape, each of them with their unique customs and even their own language.
5 hours road trip to Jinka through the fertile hills of South Ethiopia and at the Gate of Jinka you will explore the life of Ari Tribe in their villages.
After spending reasonable time interacting with Mursi Tribe before mid-day, we will continue to the friendly Hammer Tribe to join the daily activity inside their hut. There is 95% probability to witness bull jumping ceremony on market days.
