This 18-mile loop is a fun and breezy ride through the foothills and heart of Golden. You'll cruise through quiet neighborhoods, take in stunning views from Lookout Mountain, and follow Clear Creek past kayakers and historic landmarks.
Along the way, we share stories about Golden’s mining roots, colorful characters like Buffalo Bill, and how this small town helped shape Colorado’s wild west history. It’s an easygoing ride full of local flavor, hidden corners, and scenic surprises — perfect for anyone who wants to explore more with less effort.
From there, you ascend into the Lakota Hills neighborhood, a scenic climb with wide streets and foothill views, eventually linking up to Lookout Mountain Road. This stretch offers a steady climb and dramatic vistas over the plains and Golden below. Rather than summiting Lookout, the route loops around and descends into the Clear Creek area, joining the paved Clear Creek Trail for a refreshing, downhill ride along the creek — a popular stretch with cyclists, runners, and kayakers. You then turn north and climb again to Norman D. Park, a peaceful high point with mountain views, before descending into Downtown Golden. The ride passes the Coors Brewery and the Jefferson County Government Center, tying together Golden’s natural beauty and civic landmarks. The loop finishes back at Apex Park, having covered varied terrain — mountain roads, bike paths, hills, and town streets — all with the ease and thrill of an e-bike.
Here is a gravel parking lot across the street from the storage facility where the bikes are located. You can park there and cross the street and you'll see me at storage facility getting bikes out. If you take an uber you can take it directly to Colfax West Self Storage. Sometimes I can drive.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
