You can take an optional tour to the Waikino museum and get a guided tour under the gold processing urns that were used to heat up gold ore before being processed. Ride beside the beautiful natural bubbling river all the way to Waihi. View one of the most iconic and historic backcountry townships in the Waikato area and then take a tour around the gold mine rim.

The Karangahake Gorge is surrounded by lush native forest that shows off the spectacular natural beauty of backcountry New Zealand, offering a truly unique riding experience.
