The Panorama Mesdag is the impressive result of the Belgian Panorama craze, which erupted around 1875. The inviting vista of the sea, dunes and old fishing village of ScheveningeIn was created in 1881 after some Belgian entrepreneurs asked Hendrik Willem Mesdag to paint a 'Hague Maritime Panorama.'
