Once we all gather at the Sólheimajökull parking lot, we'll begin our walk toward the glacier
Our new route takes us behind the mountain through a beautiful, untouched canyon, offering spectacular scenery and a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape. The walk to the glacier is approximately 2.5 km and takes around 40 minutes, depending on the group's pace. When we reach the glacier's tongue, your guide will provide a full safety briefing and help everyone fit their glacier equipment before stepping onto the ice. Due to the longer approach, the tour is now rated as moderate rather than easy. The total experience lasts around 4 hours, giving us plenty of time to explore the glacier at a comfortable pace. Once on the ice, the hike is adjusted to the pace and ability of the group, ensuring everyone can enjoy this incredible environment safely. The minivan will be parked near the entrance to the Sólheimajökull parking lot, making it easy to find. If you have any difficulty locating us, please don't hesitate to give us a call.
