The 589.5-square-kilometre (227.6 sq mi) park was created in October 2004 to conserve the last of Morocco’s threatened fir forests.[1][2] The park also contains other plant species endemic to the Spanish/Maghrebi biodiversity hotspot such as the endangered Atlas cedar and Andalusian Belladonna Atropa baetica. Our meeting point is the main Post Office of Chefchaouen (Albarid Bank), conveniently located on Avenue Hassan II, right in the heart of the Blue City. The post office is a well-known landmark, easy to find, and just a short walk from the central Plaza Uta el-Hammam.
