3 Days Desert Chigaga From Marrakesh

Depart from Marrakech and cross the scenic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m). Stop to visit the famous Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location for many movies. Continue through the Draa Valley, known for its lush palm groves and fortified villages. Arrive in Zagora, a desert town on the edge of the Sahara. Dinner and overnight stay in a comfortable guesthouse or riad in Zagora.

Drive to M’Hamid, the gateway to the desert, and continue off-road across sandy tracks and dry lake beds. Arrive at Erg Chigaga, Morocco’s largest dune field, far from the tourist crowds. Enjoy a sunset camel ride over the dunes. Spend the evening at a Berber desert camp, with traditional music around the campfire. Dinner and overnight in a comfortable desert tent.
