Le Vésuve est un volcan actif, en Europe continentale, ainsi que l'un des plus étudiés et dangereux au monde, en raison de sa forte population et de ses caractéristiques explosives, le pic atteint 1 281 mètres. Vous arrivez au cratère avec 20/25 minutes de marche en montée. Le billet pour le cratère comprend un guide interne (2 heures). Herculanum a été enseveli sous des mètres de cendres et de pierre ponce lors de l'éruption catastrophique du Vésuve en 79 après JC. Un guide privé professionnel est fortement recommandé pour mieux le visiter dans ses structures les plus importantes.
