Common questions about booking Siem Reap experiences through SimilarTours
Yes. The private tours that show up here consistently are popular because guides unlock the real history of Angkor and Cambodia's colonial past - details you'll miss on your own. They also handle logistics and pacing on longer multi-country trips, which saves real headache.
For the 3-day private tours, booking 2-4 weeks out is comfortable. If you're doing a 12-15 day regional journey across Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand, aim for 6-8 weeks to lock in a good private guide. Check before you go to see what your chosen operator recommends.
Private guides, transport, and accommodation feature in almost all bookings here. Meals vary - some tours include them, others don't. Always check the itinerary details with your operator before committing.
November through February hits the sweet spot - cool and dry, perfect for temple exploration and longer regional trips. May through September is monsoon season and much quieter, but humidity soars and some roads get tricky.
Three days is standard for a proper Angkor experience - gives you sunrise at the main temple, time to wander smaller sites, and breathing room. Many travellers combine it with Battambang or Phnom Penh rather than rushing back the same day.
Private tours adapt well to family needs and pacing. Check with operators about temple steps, walking distances, and whether they offer any mobility modifications - some do, some don't. Discuss your needs upfront.
English-speaking guides are standard on the tours listed here. If you need another language, mention it when booking and check availability.

Cambodia
Siem Reap is the gateway to Angkor and Cambodia's heartland - a place where ancient temples rise from jungle canopy, colonial architecture dots riverside towns, and river life moves at its own pace. Travellers here book a mix of focused 3-day temple tours and sprawling 12-15 day regional adventures that loop through Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. Most visitors pair Angkor's stone temples with stays in Battambang, Phnom Penh, or mekong delta explorations. Private guided tours dominate the bookings, letting you move at your own rhythm and go beyond the coach-tour crowds.
