Korean alcohol is a lot more than just a green bottle of soju, which is diluted ethanol with artificial sweetener. Broadly, Korean alcohols are divided into Tak-ju (unfiltered rice wine), Cheong-ju (filtered clear rice wine) and So-ju (distilled spirit). Here, we will focus on our specialty, soju, but we can also taste other types too. Samhae soju was a beloved choice of spirit among the noble class of Joseon dynasty(1392~1894). This luxurious alcohol had caused cult following, but the making was so resource(rice)-heavy that production had to stop during famines. The current master, Hyeonjong Kim had learned and practiced for more than 10 years under master Taeksang Kim who had inherited and kept the recipe in the family. Sadly, master Taeksang Kim passed away in 2021. We will have a privilege to taste the history. *For private groups, please make a private group reservation or message me. Common questions about booking Seoul experiences through SimilarTours
Spring (cherry blossom season) and autumn (fall foliage) are when most people book - these seasons fill up fast, so plan 2-3 months ahead if possible. Summer is hot and humid; winter is cold but manageable if you're prepared. Check before you go for exact bloom dates, as they shift annually.
Most of the popular 7 to 14-day trips here involve temple stays, regional travel, and coordinated logistics across multiple cities. Book at least 6-8 weeks out, especially if you're targeting spring or autumn. Last-minute spots do open up, but you'll have better choice and pricing if you plan ahead.
Yes - especially for anything outside the city. DMZ tours, temple stays, and regional UNESCO site runs require permits, local knowledge, and transport coordination that solo travel makes complicated. Guides also explain context you'd miss on your own, and food is usually included.
Most 7+ day tours bundle accommodation, meals, transportation between cities, and entrance fees. Check the specific listing for what's covered - some include flights to regional destinations like Jeju or Busan, others don't.
The subway is cheap, clean, and runs late. Taxis are affordable too. For day trips or temple visits outside the city, your tour usually handles transport. Many tours include a few days based in Seoul at the start or end, so you'll get a feel for the metro system quickly.
Many work well - you'll see options that blend cultural stays, hiking, and regional travel at a reasonable pace. Temple stays, jjimjilbangs (Korean spas), and Jeju tours appeal to mixed groups. Check the itinerary details for activity levels and age suitability before you book.
You've got solid options - 7-day premium tours hit Seoul, the DMZ, Seoraksan mountain, and key cities like Busan or Andong. It's tight but doable. Longer trips (9-14 days) give you more breathing room and deeper dives into regions like Gyeongju and Jeonju.

South Korea
Seoul is a city that refuses to pick a side - ancient temples sit across the street from neon-lit shopping districts, and you can hike to a mountain monastery one day and soak in a Korean spa the next. Visitors here book long, immersive trips rather than quick hits. You'll find people signing up for 7 to 14-day journeys that blend DMZ history, temple stays, seasonal foliage tours, UNESCO sites, and regional runs through Busan, Jeju, and smaller cities like Andong and Jeonju. Korean food and accommodations are usually bundled in. It's the kind of place where you need real time to feel how it actually works.
