Castel di Salve is one of Puglia's historic wineries, founded in 1885 in Depressa by Antonio Winspeare, Duke of Salve with the goal of producting quality table wines. Now the winery is runed by the 4th and 5th generation of the Winspeare family. Strong and proud of the ancestors tradition, we still continue to work the same land today, to produce wines of character that are clean and elegant at the same time. The bulk of our agricultural work takes place in the historic family estate "Masseria Bosco Belvedere", located in the geographical center of the lower Salento. The focus is on the native grapes of Salento like Verdeca, Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera di Lecce and Primitivo. Furthermore we also cultivate another small vineyard in Depressa and other sites in the lower Salento, for a total of about 31 hectares of vineyards.

Common questions about booking Puglia experiences through SimilarTours
Late April through May and September through October hit the sweet spot - warm but not scorching, and crowds thin out after summer. If you're booking boat tours to the caves or coastal trips, check before you go for seasonal schedules, as some operators adjust in winter months.
Private boat tours and guided excursions in smaller towns can fill up during peak season (June-August), so booking a week or two ahead gives you solid options. Outside summer, you usually have more flexibility, but confirm directly with operators.
Yes. The region's best experiences - boat trips into sea caves, the sanctuary at Monte Sant'Angelo, the backstory of towns like Bovino and Lucera - come alive with someone who knows the place. Most visitors here book private or small-group tours rather than larger coach trips.
Bari is the main hub with airport and train connections. From there, private transfers work for point-to-point travel, and many tours include pickup. Walking tours cover town centers well, but renting a car gives you freedom if you're staying a week or more.
Private boat tours usually cover transport and skipper; walking tours cover the guide and their expertise; customizable excursions depend on what you arrange with your operator. Check what's included - some tours add snorkeling or meals, others don't.
Boat tours work well for older kids and families comfortable on water; walking tours suit all ages depending on terrain and pace. Check accessibility details before booking, especially for the mountainside sanctuary at Monte Sant'Angelo or the historic cobbled streets.

Italy
Puglia wraps around Italy's southeastern heel with Adriatic and Ionian coastlines, whitewashed towns, and centuries of layered history. Most visitors here hire a private guide to explore the limestone caves by boat, wander through hilltop towns like Monopoli and Locorotondo, or visit the clifftop Sanctuary of San Michele at Monte Sant'Angelo. You'll find boat rentals along the coast, walking tours through medieval quarters, and private transfers that work well if you're flying in or out of Bari. The region rewards slow travel - small groups and one-on-one guides let you linger in places most tourists skip.
