What makes our service unique, is our quality as guides and as a person. Our team is made up of highly educated people, warm people, and wine lovers. No detail is small for us. You will be visiting two beautiful wineries, and you will taste excellent wines. For lunch, we will take you to some of the great venues. The wineries we choose are different every day, but our style is to show you a good mix of family-run wineries, old and traditional, and boutique. We prefer to visit wineries we know the owner is around, where the visit is guided by passionate people like we are. Please notice the winery's availability may change, but the style and quality will be similar to the listed. Our English/ Portuguese is pretty good, and we usually like talking about a lot more than just wines, our knowledge of Argentine culture and history is wide, and we consider ourselves ambassadors of our country. We know you will enjoy the day and will remember this experience as a highlight of your trip!

We started at 7:00 a.m. looking for passengers at the hotels in the city of Mendoza, and it took us approximately 45 minutes to look for them all. We travel through Mendoza along Route 40 towards the south. We will travel for 3 hours from the time we leave Mendoza until we arrive in San Rafael. There the excursion takes place, visiting the City of San Rafael, the historical area known as Villa 25 de Mayo, the incredible geological formation of the Atuel Canyon and the Valle Grande reservoir/dam (the most important of the Atuel River). At this last point you have free time to take a catamaran or rafting ride or have lunch (both optional activities at an extra cost).

Common questions about booking Mendoza experiences through SimilarTours
The climbing season runs December through February (South American summer), and the popular routes fill up weeks in advance. If Aconcagua is on your list, book your guided tour at least 4-6 weeks ahead. Check with tour operators for exact availability in your travel window.
Most wine-focused visitors book 5-6 days, which gives you time to tour vineyards, enjoy private tastings, and take a day trip into the high Andes foothills. You'll see plenty of people doing weekend trips from Buenos Aires as well, though 4-5 days lets you actually breathe and taste properly.
Yes. The wine producers work closely with private guides who know which tastings are worth your time and can tailor the pace to you. For mountain activities like Aconcagua or high-altitude treks, a guide isn't optional-it's essential for safety and navigation.
Most visitors arrange transport through their tour operator, especially for vineyard tours and mountain trips. If you're booking a multi-day experience, check what's included before you go-many private tours handle all logistics.
Absolutely. A 6-day private tour or the 5-day all-inclusive Mendoza packages often blend both-think vineyard mornings and high Andes afternoon hikes. You can also add a day trip to the mountains if you're focused mainly on wine.
Several operators run trekking tours that cross the Andes from Argentina into Chile, usually as part of longer expeditions. These require good fitness and advance planning-reach out to tour operators about permits and logistics.
Yes. High Andes day trips and multi-day treks let you experience dramatic alpine scenery without attempting a 6,962-meter summit. Private guided adventures in this region are common and adjust to your fitness level.

Argentina
Mendoza sits in Argentina's wine country at the foot of the Andes, where most visitors split their time between vineyard tastings and serious mountain pursuits. You'll find everything from leisurely 5-day wine tours with private guides to hardcore 18-day expeditions up Aconcagua, the highest peak in South America. The region works equally well if you want to sip Malbec in comfort or push yourself on high-altitude treks into Chile. Day trips into the high Andes are popular, as are longer regional tours that connect Mendoza to Argentina's northern landscapes.
