There’s nothing quite like fall in Vermont, and no two foliage days are exactly the same.
This private, full-day tour for up to four guests is planned around the best of what Vermont has to offer that day. Foliage changes quickly, weather matters, and some roads are far busier than others during peak season.
Depending on the day, we might follow quiet back roads, stop at covered bridges and overlooks, wander through a Vermont village, or visit a farm or local maker.
The goal isn’t to check off a list of attractions. It’s to spend the day seeing Vermont at its best, at an easy pace, with time to stop, explore and enjoy it.
Visit the Vermont Wayfinders website for more information about tours and availability.
Tour Highlights:
- Scenic back roads and mountain drives - Covered bridges, villages, farms and Vermont landscapes - Stops chosen for the conditions that day - Time to explore and take photos without being rushed - A private itinerary planned for your group
If you aren't planning to spend time here already, we can include this as part of your tour. Shopping, lunch, or just a walk around town... depending on how you want your day to go and if you'd like to avoid the crowds or not. The day is customized to your small group.
We can add this to your tour if you'd like!
t's up hill!) will get us to some great long distance views of foliage.
I select which towns based on where your home base is -- the tour truly starts the moment you get in the Bronco. You'll see: - beautiful stone walls - pastures with cows, horses, sheep or alpaca grazing - farms - dairy, horse, sheep, old and new! - quiet woods with beautiful foliage spring, summer and fall, of course! - small streams - pause a moment and just listen. - maple syrup lines crisscrossing a forest - and more, based on what we talk about before and during your tour
This is a fairly well-known one, but I include bridges you won't find on any 'top 10' lists... they're quiet and off the beaten path, often allowing you to walk in, around and even under them!
In nice weather you can sit out on the deck overlooking the Ottauquechee River. Enjoy a flight of their beers if you'd like, I'm driving!
Step back in time when you browse the shelves, find Vermont souvenirs, try some maple candy, enjoy an old-fashioned glass bottle of Coca-Cola.
Please let us know where you'd like us to pick you up.
If you're close to but outside our general pickup area (Barnard, Pomfret, Hartford, Hartland, Quechee, Woodstock, Bridgewater, Killington, Plymouth, Reading, West Windsor, Windsor, Weathersfield, Cavendish, Ludlow, Mount Holly, Weston, Andover, Chester, Springfield, Londonderry, Grafton, Windham, Rockingham), we can make that work by adjusting actual tour time to accommodate travel to your pick-up/drop off location. Reach out, we'll do our best to make it work!
How many people can join a tour?
Our tours are designed for small, private groups—up to 4 guests can ride comfortably in the Bronco, plus your guide as the driver. Just a heads-up: the back seat can feel a bit snug if all four guests are larger adults, so if comfort is a top priority, you may want to consider a group of 2 or 3 instead. Either way, you’ll have a great time exploring Vermont’s scenic backroads together!
