This tour is built just for you! You provide what you'd love to see and do (scenery, farms, photography, food, artisans, etc.) and what you'd rather skip and I'll create a customized itinerary for your day.
We'll travel in a built-for-back roads Bronco, with a (weather permitting) top-down, open air experience you won't soon forget! As much as possible, we keep off the main routes and stick to dirt roads where traffic doesn't exist, the scenery is breathtaking, and hidden views abound. There will be plenty of opportunities to pause and take it all in.
Be sure to check out the Vermont Wayfinders website for more information on tours and availability, including add-on options like heading to the top of Killington or going for a horse-drawn carriage ride.
The places provided listed here are just the start; this truly is a signature tour, tailored to you and your small group.
ws of Mount Ascutney in Brownsville and West Windsor, Vermont.
I select which towns based on where your home base is -- the tour truly starts the moment you get in the Bronco. You'll see: - beautiful stone walls - pastures with cows, horses, sheep or alpaca grazing - farms - dairy, horse, sheep, old and new! - quiet woods with beautiful foliage spring, summer and fall, of course! - small streams - pause a moment and just listen. - maple syrup lines crisscrossing a forest - and more, based on what we talk about before and during your tour
More dirt roads, pretty lakes, and nature abound here! We can add in optional stops at Plymouth Cheese or the Calvin Coolidge Homestead, just let us know!
Depending on your preferences, we can take a long or short pause here. With shops and art galleries and plenty of photo opps, Woodstock is a perfect place to enjoy any day!
and woods and a pretty lake we can stop at for lunch or to stretch our legs.
This is a fairly well-known one, but I include bridges you won't find on any 'top 10' lists... they're quiet and off the beaten path, often allowing you to walk in, around and even under them!
In nice weather you can sit out on the deck overlooking the Ottauquechee River. Enjoy a flight of their beers if you'd like, I'm driving!
Step back in time when you browse the shelves, find Vermont souvenirs, try some maple candy, enjoy an old-fashioned glass bottle of Coca-Cola.
Please let us know where you'd like us to pick you up.
If you're close to but outside our general pickup area (Barnard, Pomfret, Hartford, Hartland, Quechee, Woodstock, Bridgewater, Killington, Plymouth, Reading, West Windsor, Windsor, Weathersfield, Cavendish, Ludlow, Mount Holly, Weston, Andover, Chester, Springfield, Londonderry, Grafton, Windham, Rockingham), we can make that work by adjusting actual tour time to accommodate travel to your pick-up/drop off location. Reach out, we'll do our best to make it work!
How many people can join a tour?
Our tours are designed for small, private groups—up to 4 guests can ride comfortably in the Bronco, plus your guide as the driver. Just a heads-up: the back seat can feel a bit snug if all four guests are larger adults, so if comfort is a top priority, you may want to consider a group of 2 or 3 instead. Either way, you’ll have a great time exploring Vermont’s scenic backroads together!
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
