The first hike of the day takes us to the Blue Eye of Kaprre, starting from the picturesque village of Nderlysa. The hike is approximately 5 km round trip and takes around 2 hours. It is considered moderate to challenging, with rocky and uneven terrain and some steep uphill and downhill sections. A good level of fitness and proper walking or hiking shoes are recommended. The trail follows the beautiful Kaprre Valley, passing clear mountain streams, forested areas, and rocky landscapes before reaching the Blue Eye, a spectacular turquoise natural spring surrounded by the Albanian Alps. After some time to enjoy the scenery, take photos, or cool off in the cold mountain water, we follow the same trail back to Nderlysa.
Theth, Albania
The hike to Grunas Waterfall starts near Grunas Canyon and is approximately 1.6 km round trip, taking around 50–60 minutes, depending on the group’s pace. Although shorter than the Blue Eye hike, the trail is steeper in some sections, with rocky and uneven terrain that requires good footwear and some physical effort. At the end of the trail, we reach the impressive Grunas Waterfall, a 30-meter cascade surrounded by dramatic cliffs and mountain vegetation. There will be time to enjoy the scenery, take photos, and feel the refreshing mist before following the same trail back.
estled in the heart of Theth village, within the Albanian Alps. Built in 1892, this stone and shingle church is a testament to the region’s rich cultural and architectural heritage. The Lock-in Tower of Theth, also known as “Kulla e Ngujimit,” is a fascinating historical and cultural landmark located in Theth village. This fortified stone tower is deeply tied to the traditions and history of northern Albania, particularly the “Kanun of Lekë Dukagjini”, a set of customary laws that governed the region for centuries.
