Your lesson is taught by Leandro, a certified surf coach (Surf Instructor Level 1) who runs his own school in Tamarindo and stays with you in the water the whole session. Rated 5.0 by more than 430 travelers on Viator and Tripadvisor.
Unlike a quick push-into-the-wave lesson, we start with theory and land practice so you understand what you are doing, then put it to work in the water with feedback on every wave. Small groups, patient teaching for kids and adults, and lessons in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
Want to keep progressing? Book the 3-lesson package and get videos of your surfing in lesson 2 and a personal video analysis in lesson 3 at no extra cost.
This 2-hour lesson works for complete beginners and for surfers who want to improve their technique. How the lesson works: 1. Short theory session at the school: ocean safety, reading the waves and the basics of paddling and standing up, explained with images and videos. 2. Practice on land: pop-up, stance and balance drills until the movement feels natural. 3. Surf session in the water: your coach stays with you in the water, picks the right waves for your level and gives you feedback on every ride. Choose the format that fits you: - Group lesson (3 or more people) - Semi-private lesson (2 people) - Private lesson (1 person) - 3-lesson progression package (any format): videos of you surfing in lesson 2 and a personal video analysis in lesson 3, at no extra cost. Surfboard, leash and rash guard are included, plus coffee, water and a locker at Club 33 Surf Shop. All you need is a swimsuit, sunscreen and a towel.
Meet us at Club 33 Surf Shop on the main road of Tamarindo, the home of our surf school. Look for the Club 33 sign and check in at the front desk 15 minutes before your lesson. Lockers are available.
