This is a hands-on calligraphy practice session in a practicing calligrapher's own Safi workshop, not a demonstration for tourists. You work in a standard group workshop format, with groups capped at fifteen so your hand is corrected individually throughout the session.

• Start by getting comfortable with the tools, including a traditional reed pen and ink that you will use rather than a modern nib, so you can feel how classical calligraphers handled each stroke.

• Choose your focus for the session with a choice of Arabic or Latin script, or experiment with both, and practice writing forms, connections, and short words at your own pace.

• Benefit from guidance in Arabic, Darija, French, and English as your expert instructor supports you, with all materials provided, including pens, ink, and paper, so you can concentrate fully on your lettering.

• Create a finished piece to take home, such as your name, a meaningful word, or a proverb, and enjoy traditional Moroccan mint tea and water during the workshop as you refine your script.
