One of our stops on the way is a stop at Whale park for a scenic walk through the boardwalk and overlook into the scenic Sitka Sound where Whales can often be seen heading to Silver Bay.
Our expert guide will take you on a journey through the enchanting Tongass National Forest along the Thimbleberry trail hike. On this small journey we will wind through the forest, look down from the top of the waterfall and continue up to Thimbleberry lake where we will stop for photos with the most beautiful backdrop. The hiking trail is graded and not difficult to manage for even inexperienced hikers.
Surrounded by high mountain peaks the silver glistening of the water in the bay where it gets it's name is truly a sight to behold. Stay on the lookout for whales that can often be seen as they travel through the area.
Depending on the time of the tour we can pick our guests up at either the Sitka Sound cruise terminal, in the center of the city at Harrigan Centennial Hall, Downtown Sitka at the Misfit Island Cafe or can arrange pick up at hotels or other local accommodations. Pick up will be arranged prior to the day of the tour.
