The Great Chamber sand cave and Peekaboo Slot Canyon are one of the most unique examples of Utah's sand stone formations. Located near Kanab Utah and Zion National Park, these locations are a must see for visitors. You will see the rich dark reds of the slot canyon and the intense yellows and stark whites of the sand cave. As always we keep our groups small and intimate, allowing only 6 people to join this amazing tour (Minimum number of guests is 2 for this tour.) For larger groups give us a call 435-689-2077
The best way to get to these amazing spots are in an off-road machine. Our vehicles are tons of fun for the sandy, bumpy trails. There are sand dunes and beautiful scenery along the way, with occasional small wildlife that may make an appearance. This dry slot canyon is away from the crowds and is a great alternative to some of the busier areas at the national parks. The hike through the slot canyon is not difficult. It does include a small ladder during the short 1 mile walk. Enjoy the narrow sections with the occasional beam of light. It is a great opportunity for kids and families to relax and go at their own pace. Then on to the Great Chamber. This hike is a little strenuous. You will need to be able to hike up a 40 yard sand hill. This cavern is naturally cut out of the cliffside by wind, creating an epic sand dune within its walls.
We will meet at the Peekaboo Trailhead parking area 10 minutes north of Kanab Utah off of highway 89.
