Getting started

Begin your astronomic tour with departure from either the South area or the North area of Tenerife, depending on your chosen option. You travel in transportation for small groups, heading up to the Teide Observatory at about 2,390–2,400 meters above sea level. On arrival, you enter the Teide Observatory using your reservation confirmation and prepare to meet your Starlight guide.

Teide Observatory

Teide Observatory is where modern astrophysics in the Canary Islands began. Set up in Izaña in the early 1960s, its first professional telescope arrived in 1964, followed by its first solar telescope in 1969. Today, the Observatory is dedicated largely to studying the Sun and houses some of Europe's leading solar telescopes.
