Make the most of your time ashore with this carefully crafted excursion from the port of Ísafjörður — designed to showcase the untamed beauty and hidden gems of Iceland’s Westfjords. Unlike typical tours, this journey takes you off the beaten path to places most travelers never reach. We’ll pass through the charming fishing village of Bolungarvík and, weather permitting, visit one of Iceland’s most breathtaking viewpoints, perched high above the cliffs. Step back in time at traditional turf-roofed fisherman’s huts and experience how early Icelanders lived by the sea. The highlight is the majestic Dynjandi waterfall — considered by many to be Iceland’s most beautiful. Hidden deep in the fjords, it’s a true natural wonder rarely seen by visitors. This small-group tour offers a rare chance to discover the raw, authentic side of Iceland — far from the crowds and full of culture, history, and unforgettable views.

What you'll do

Bolungarvik
Bolungarvik, Iceland
Cross one of Iceland’s longest tunnels (5.5 km) and arrive at Bolungarvík, a remote fishing village tucked between towering cliffs and the sea. With just 1,000 residents and one of Iceland’s oldest ports, it’s a hidden gem rich in history and charm.
Bolafjall
Skalavikurvegur, Bolungarvik, Iceland
Just 4 years ago, Bolungarvík opened its boldest attraction: a cliff-edge viewing platform atop Mount Bolafjall, 628 meters above sea level. Suspended by 60 tons of steel, it offers thrilling views over the village, dramatic fjords, and even, on clear days, all the way to Greenland. Dare to step out and see Iceland from above!

Osvor Maritime Museum
Adalstraeti 21, Bolungarvik, Iceland
Step back in time and discover how Icelanders fished before motorboats and harbors. In Bolungarvík, learn how brave fishermen rowed into icy waters and how farmers became seafarers during the winter months. A powerful glimpse into Iceland’s rugged past and deep bond with the sea.

Dynjandi (Fjallfoss)
Route 60, Hrafnseyri, Iceland
Often called “the Bridal Veil” for the delicate white curtain it creates over the rocks, this breathtaking waterfall is considered by many to be the most beautiful in Iceland. Though it remains off the typical tourist trail, hidden deep within the Westfjords, its remote location only adds to its magic. Thanks to our strategic stop from the port of Ísafjörður, you’ll have the rare chance to witness this hidden gem — a true natural wonder that few travelers ever get to see.
