Once the overview is complete, you start with simple exercises to get comfortable working with paper layers.

• Spend time choosing a theme for your lightbox and sketching your own design, or use provided templates if you prefer a guided starting point. This design stage lets you plan where each layer will sit in relation to the light source.

• Work with all art materials and tools supplied on-site, so you do not need to bring anything. Cutting, arranging, and assembling the paper layers is done using the dedicated tools and supplies provided for the workshop.

• Receive guidance from a professional instructor throughout the session, from initial concept to final assembly. The instructor is available for one-on-one tips on composition, layering, and practical techniques for clean cuts and smooth assembly.

• Install the LED lighting inside your structure and see your artwork come to life as the layers glow and cast shadows. The final step is securing everything so your piece is stable and ready for display at home.

• Leave with your finished lightbox to take home as a souvenir of Saigon, ready to place on a shelf or desk. Transport to and from the workshop venue is not included, so you can choose how and when you travel onward after the class.
