The sunrise will be on the east side, so I suggest sitting on the drivers side for an unobstructed view of the morning sun. Your hike will start as soon as we arrive! El Morro serves as a unique historical record of the travelers who journeyed along the east-west trail, leaving behind glimpses of their stories etched on the sandstone cliff. The carvings, symbols, names, and dates offer a fascinating insight into the individuals who sought respite at the oasis and a tangible connection to the past for modern visitors exploring the site. After a 1 to 2 hour hike a fresh deli packed lunch will be served. Next Zuni Village!

If you are staying at a hotel and need to be picked up, simply provide me with the name of the hotel and I will be there 15 minutes before our agreed departure time. Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions on that day. For airport pickups, I will be waiting at the designated area 15-30 minutes prior to your arrival. In case you are unable to find the Amtrak station, please contact me immediately and I will assist you in finding your way from your current location.
